Diameter determines useful candle clearance
A 10 cm diameter cylinder is a practical starting point for slim pillar candles and smaller groupings. A wider 15 cm model leaves more room for a broad candle or fuller floral treatment.
The candle should not press against the glass, and the flame needs safe clearance from the rim and any decoration. Follow the candle maker's instructions and the venue's fire policy whenever real flame is used.
Read heights as a set, not in isolation
Three or four heights in one diameter create a measured progression along tables and aisles. Varying the flame level as well as the vessel height avoids a rigid line.
Water, floating candles and live flowers each change weight and handling. Avoid sudden temperature changes and clean glass only after it has cooled fully.
